Dr. Kendi earned the 2016 National Book Award for his work Stamped from the Beginning: A Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. We talk about Lincoln's role in the history of racist and anti-racist ideas, Dr. Kendi's book, and about race in America today. We visited the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and chatted with Dr. James Cornelius, the curator of the Lincoln collection. Dr. Cornelius's knowledge of Lincoln and his ability to humanize him in conversation is truly breathtaking. This conversation left us thinking about the collection and Lincoln for days. What a treat is was to meet and talk with one of the sharpest Lincoln minds in the world!
